AMRUT Scheme stands for Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this scheme in June 2015. It is a scheme to change the urban area of India.
It is a mission of smart city. Under this scheme, government will make houses for all in the entire city.

Key points of Atal Mission for Reservation and Urban Transformation (Amurat) Project
- Government will make houses with all facilities such as electricity bill, water bill, house tax etc.
- It will be applicable in that place only where htere are more than 1,00,000 (1 lakh) people.

- It also include construction and maintenance of water supply systems.
- This scheme also include rejuvenating of old water bodies.
- Government will also take charge of construction and maintenance of underground sewage system under this scheme.

- This scheme will also cover biological and mechanical cleaning of conduit and septic tank.
- The government will also construct and maintain the effective flood drainage system to prevent flood destruction under this scheme.

Overview Of AMRUT Scheme
- The Indian government started the Atala Mission For rejuvenation and Urban Transformation(AMRUT) scheme on June 24, 2015.
- The main objective of the scheme is to provide basic facilities such as water supply, sewerage, urban transport, park to especially poor and the needy people.
- Everyone should have have the flexible facility of tap water and sewerage features.
- Greenery like parks and open spaces are well maintained.
Government will also provide digital and smart features such as weather forecast, Internet and Wi-Fi features. - This scheme will cover more than 50 towns which has more than 1 lakh people.
Budget: The budget of this scheme is around Rs 50,000 Crore.

Eligibility For AMRUT Scheme
- Government will provide facilities supply of water at the level of LIP City, basic services such as sewerage networks, drainage system, transport facilities, available digital internet facility, industry facility and the infrastructure.
Implementation Of AMRUT Scheme
First Phase Of AMRUT Scheme
In the first phase of this scheme government will cover 89 towns under this scheme. These 90 towns/cities will get complete facilities.
Last Phase Of AMRUT Scheme
It will be second and last phase of this scheme. Under this phase it will invite the major companies and partnerships for the main programmes of the scheme and will be fine-lice by making a list of the second 500 cities under this phase.
