Things to consider for Pradhan Mantri Sukanya Yojna

- Age of the girl child must not exceed 10 years
- Applicant should open Bank account under legal guardian or natural guardian of the girl child
- The minimum and the maximum amounts to be deposited under this scheme are Rs. 1000 and Rs. 150000 respectively anytime between April to March in the mode of demand draft, cheque or cash.
- The total amount is deposited for 14 years.
- The maturity date is twenty one years from the date of opening this saving account.
- The minimum lock-in period under this saving scheme is eleven years.
- You can withdraw up to 50% of money from this account at the end of the previous financial year when the girl child turns 18 for marriage or higher education purpose.
- You can fully withdraw the money when the girl child turns 21.
- The account will earn interest when the money is not withdrawn after the girl turns 21 years.
